An audience is a vital part of a piece.

Performance Lab hosts several events throughout the year where artists are welcomed to try out their original material in front of an audience.

We also pair artists together to collaborate on the creation of new material.

Available Labs will be listed, and all artists are welcome to apply.

Fall 2020 - Original Work
This Performance Lab invites artists to submit original material for an evening showcase. We accept pieces from all types of artists, but it must be original work. It can be a completed piece, or a work in progress, to be completed by the time of the showcase. 
 
 
If you would like to be considered:
  • Complete the Application below.

  • If you are submitting as a group, only one application has to be filled out for that piece.

  • You may submit more than one piece.

  • A separate application must be filled out for each piece you submit.

  • If we do not receive a complete application, your piece will not be considered.

  • All pieces must be under 6 minutes.

  • Your piece will be reviewed by a panel of theatre professionals, and 1o-15 pieces will be chosen, depending on length.

  • No more than one piece per artist can be selected for the evening of staged readings.

Winter 2021 - Collaborative
 
This Performance Lab invites artists to submit original concepts that are a work in progress. We accept pieces from all types of artists, but it must be an original idea.
 
We will then pair artists together and you will collaborate on an original piece, to be completed by the time of the showcase. 

If you would like to be considered:

  • Complete the Application below.

  • If you are submitting as a group, only one application has to be filled out for that concept.

  • You may submit more than one concept.

  • A separate application must be filled out for each concept you submit.

  • If we do not receive a complete application, your piece will not be considered.

  • A visual submission sample of your previous work is required.

  • Your concept will be reviewed by a panel of theatre professionals, and you will be paired with another artist, to collaborate on creating an original piece.

  • The pieces will be matched based on concepts that work well together.

  • Final pieces will be between 6-10 minutes in length.
